Former Delegate and School Board Member Judy Connally Endorses Tenley Peterson for Arlington County Board

ARLINGTON, VA—Today, Tenley Peterson announced the endorsement of former Delegate and County Board Member Julia “Judy” Connally. Tenley Peterson is seeking the Democratic nomination for an open seat on the Arlington County Board in 2024.

Connally, a former member of the House of Delegates (1992-1998) and Arlington School Board (1986-1990) stated, “Tenley Peterson has proved her competence and commitment to Arlington through her years of service on the Arlington Planning and Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commissions. Importantly, she has shown that she can work collegially with others for the betterment of the County. Tenley is prepared to join the County Board and will be a constructive voice for her thoughtful positions on housing and development, funding public schools, dealing with climate change, and supporting our local social safety net. The County Board needs her skill set, values and proven commitment.”

Peterson responded, “I am deeply honored to receive former Delegate Judy Connally’s endorsement. Judy's legacy of service and dedication to Arlington is truly inspiring, and her support means a great deal to me. Her endorsement reflects the values I hold dear: commitment to community, integrity, and a collaborative spirit. Peterson is a six-term Arlington County Commissioner, including four years of service as Chair of the Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission and her current service as the Vice Chair of the Planning Commission and Chair of its Site Plan Review Committee sub-group.
