Northern Virginia Labor Federation (NoVA Labor) Endorses Tenley Peterson for Arlington County Board

Arlington, VA — Today, Tenley Peterson is pleased to announce the endorsement of the Northern Virginia Labor Federation, AFL-CIO (NoVA Labor). Tenley Peterson is seeking the Democratic nomination for an open seat on the Arlington County Board in 2024.


Virginia Diamond, President of NoVA Labor, said, “We strongly endorse Tenley Peterson for Arlington County Board. Tenley is a union member and has shown an unwavering commitment to the workers of Northern Virginia. Her dedication to fair wages and the right to organize aligns perfectly with our goals. We believe she will be a fierce advocate for workers on the Arlington County Board.”


In response to the endorsements, Peterson said, “As a union member, I am incredibly honored to receive the endorsement of NoVA Labor. Their dedication to advancing the rights and well-being of workers in Northern Virginia is essential to creating a more just and prosperous society. I am grateful for their support and look forward to working closely with them to support good wages, job safety, union jobs, and a stronger, more equitable Arlington for all.”


Tenley Peterson is a member of the Arlington Education Association (AEA) union, the current Vice Chair of Arlington County’s Planning Commission, and the former Chair of the Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission. Peterson is also an APS substitute teacher, mom of three, and a communications professional. Peterson is a progressive Democrat who believes that a public servant’s number one responsibility is putting people first when making policy decisions. If elected, Peterson will bring experience, pragmatism, and kindness to the County Board as she works to find solutions that work for all of Arlington.
