Come meet Tenley Peterson and hear her vision for Arlington County.
Tenley Peterson is a devoted mother of three, union member, progressive Democrat, and APS substitute teacher. Her dedication to public service is not just a job—it's a calling she embraces wholeheartedly.
As a communications professional, Tenley has garnered acclaim for her contributions to international nonprofits, advocacy, and education, earning prestigious awards such as the Leadership Center for Excellence's 40 Under 40.
Currently, she serves as Vice Chair of Arlington County’s Planning Commission, spearheading community engagement efforts and providing expert advice on land use. Previously, she dedicated eight years to the Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission, four of which sas Chair, ensuring our budgets align with community values.
Tenley's candidacy is fueled by her vision for Arlington: accessible and affordable housing, robust school investment, climate leadership, improved public transportation, and a vibrant economy.
She resides in the Courthouse neighborhood with her husband, Jeff Munns, and their three children: Darby, Corwyn, and Desmond.
